Location
At 80 kilometers from Chillán is Las Trancas Valley. Las Trancas is open on 2 Valleys; The Hermoso Valley, famous for its ski resort Chillán Hot Springs and the Shangri-La Valley, well-known for its glacier and unique landscape. Shangri-La Valley is located in the road to Chillán Hot Springs, amidst the Andes foothills, and close to Las Trancas valley. In Kilometer 72, turning to the left you will see Los Radales road and Las Cabras cabins. This is a privileged location in the heart of centenary oaks and coigue forest, surrounded by the mountains and the Renegade River. In Winter or summer, the entire Trancas Valley welcomes thousands of adventurers and campers who come along to enjoy outdoor life and natural attractions such as skiing, snowboarding, rock climbing, trekking, horse riding, mountain biking, hiking, excursions, exploring the abundant native flora and fauna, and of course baths and other thermal activities.
Some of the attractions of this area are El Huemul pond, Hot Waters Valley, Velo de la Novia Waterfall, Chillán Volcano, Garganta del Diablo, Renegado River, and Los Pellines lighthouse, among others.
Las Trancas is an active village all year long, with restaurants, pubs and a nightclub all along the main road to Chillan Hot Springs. There you can find shops very well supplied even some stores of mountain stuff. However, if you have further necessities, 15 kilometers down the main road in Los Lleuques and Recinto towns you can find some other stores.
